The Bullmastiffs

Australian Champion Bobby Dazzler of Graecia (Imp UK)
Rosie was imported by us in 1991 from Graecia
Kennels in the UK. An impressive, sound bitch with an
excellent pedigree to match, she became the foundation bitch for our
kennel. Her first litter resulted from a mating to Aust Ch
Maxstoke Norton (Imp UK) who was a son to her Grand-sire, Eng Ch
Graecia Centaur. She produced a litter for us under the
Bulcharmer prefix. Her second and last litter was to Aust Ch
Morvern Eachan (Imp UK). Puppies from these two litters went
to some of Australia's well known kennels, including Powerbulmas,
Kangala, Treebrook and Grasslock and all produced well for these
kennels.
Due to our remote location in Lightning Ridge at
the time, she was only shown selectively. Even so, she boasts
such wins as Challenge Bitch and Runner-Up Best of Breed at the 1994
Sydney Royal Show. Challenge Bitch, Best Fawn, Best Champion
and Best Body at Specialty Bullmastiff Shows as well as numerous
Best of Breed, Runner-Up and Class in Group awards.

Australian Champion Wyburn Opal Guardian (Imp UK)
Ten years after our first import, Onyx made the
journey from Wyburn Kennels in the UK to Australia and joined Opalguard in 2001.
I was lucky enough to be able to see Onyx in the UK
on a trip to CRUFTS as a young puppy and I was instantly in love
with him. This striking little baby grew into a handsome man
with the most beautiful of temperaments.
He later became co-owned by Powerbulmas and
Opalguard kennels as it was difficult for us to show him to his full
potential because of family commitments and so Nellie Abela offered
to take him to some of the bigger Shows and interstate.
Onyx has won many Best of Breed, Runner-Up, Class
in Group and Class in Show awards. He was unbeatable in the
Best Brindle class at Specialty level for many years in all States
he was shown.
He was only used twice at stud by Opalguard and his
son, Aust Ch Opalguard Eminem is himself a worthy winning dog.
He was used with success by a few other kennels, his son, Aust Ch
Truguardian Rakahn was a Best in Show in Specialty in Victoria
amongst other things.

2007 saw our third and last Bullmastiff import
arrive to Opalguard from Optimus Kennels in the UK.
2 days upon arriving into Australian Quarantine,
and the first opportunity for him to be allowed visitors, Liam was
noticed to have problems with his movement. Upon his release
and several specialists later, Liam was diagnosed with
Ununited Anconeal Process
(UAP) which is a severe form of Elbow Dysplasia.
He underwent major orthopaedic surgery
and rehabilitation at 7 months of age to give him the best opportunity of a
comfortable life.
For obvious reasons, Liam was neve shown or used at stud. He is neutered and living a wonderful life with Andrew Elder, who adores
him. We still see him occasionally and he has the most beautiful
temperament considering everything he has gone through. Thank you
Andrew. He is pictured above at 3 years of age.
The French Bulldogs

Australian Champion Glenlee
Eternal Secret (Imp UK)
Our beautiful Elle arrived into
Australia late in 2009 from the world renown Glenlee French Bulldog Kennels
in England. We thank Gordon and Ellen Drummond for sending us this
gorgeous little girl. Elle
has begun her show career, obtaining Best Minor Puppy in Group and RCC at
her first outing. Her second outing she brought home the ribbons for
2nd place in 6-12 months sweepstakes, Bitch CC, RUBOB, Best Minor Puppy in
Group and BEST MINOR PUPPY IN SHOW!
Since then Elle has gathered more Class in Groups, CC's and RCC's together
and attained her Australian Champion title in December 2010 with less than
12 months in the Show ring.

Australian Champion Edelweis For Palevyh Buldogov (Imp Rus
via USA)
Twelve months in the making, we finally welcome
Dali to Australia in April 2010.
We purchased Dali as an 8 week old pup from Elena Kozhevnikova.
Russia is a restricted country for importation directly to
Australia, so therefore Dali needed a carer in a Country that would
accept him until he was eligible to enter. We would like to thank
Betsy Zimmerman of Eclectic Frenchies who looked after Dali for us
in the USA making his importation into Australia possible.
Dali won Best of Breed, Best Junior in Group and Runner-Up to Best
Exhibit in Group at his very first outing in Australia, and his first
time ever in the show ring. His second outing gave him yet
another best of breed and Junior in Group, whilst his fourth outing
saw him awarded Best Intermediate in Group and BEST INTERMEDIATE IN SHOW with some very nice
comments from the judges who have recognised his qualities.
NEWS FLASH......Dali wins BEST
EXHIBIT IN SHOW at his fourth time out and his daughter,
Opalguard A Kind Of Magic wins BEST BABY PUPPY IN SHOW at her second
time out !!!
Dali's son "Opalguard Baby Im A Star" is
already a BEST OF BREED winner at just 7 months of age. He is
also a multi class in group and CLASS IN SHOW winner.
Dali's attained his Australian Champion title in
just 5 months of limited showing and 9 Best of Breed Certificates.
Dali left his mark on the American French
Bulldog scene before making the move to Australia by giving his
carer two lovely litters. His son Dylan
picked up a 3 point
major going Winner's Dog and Best of Winners at 7 months of age at
his very first show.
The Boxers

Australian Champion
Ronin Darkly Dreaming (Imp NZ)
Demi
is our very first Boxer and she arrived to Opalguard from New Zealand
in 2009.
She is gorgeous girl with a happy
outlook on life. She has done us proud in the Showring in her
short time here winning her first Reserve CC and Runner-Up Best of
Breed at just 7 months of age with an entry of 18 Boxers. She
bettered this at her next Show only two weeks later winning her
first CC and Best of Breed with some stiff competition.
Demi's next big win was winning Runner-Up to Best
Exhibit in Group from the Puppy Class.
She won her first BEST
EXHIBIT IN GROUP just two weeks after her first birthday, topping it
off with two more BEST EXHIBIT IN GROUPS at just 16 months of age.
Demi
attained the title of Australian Champion at 13 months of age.
We thank
Helene Owen of Ronin Boxers in New Zealand for introducing us to the
Boxer breed with such a beautiful girl.

Sanlian Brief Liasion (Imp NZ)
Stella joined our team in May 2010.
She is a stunning girl with impeccable bloodlines. Her
first weekend of showing was just three weeks after her
arrival into the country where she won Best baby of Breed
for three days running. Stella has a gentle nature and
loves to please.
Thank you to Jillian Plant for sending us this beauty.

Ronin Under Wraps (Imp NZ)
Brando arrived to Opalguard in
December 2010. Sadly he did not turn out how we had
hoped and he has now gone to live with a new family who
adore him.
